Message discussed some things with Ztuner concerning the way my car has been running with DW injectors, I have not done the proper troubleshooting to ultimately determine that yes the injectors are problematic, much less deem them a waste of money. The suspicion is that they (740cc) are leaking (lots of popping under decel plus abysmal gas mileage), and that DW has had issues with their 740cc injectors last year into this year, I am not speaking with 1st hand knowledge....yet. But I have had a MYRIAD of other variables negatively affecting the way my Z has ran this past year, so to just point at my DW's and say they are definitely bad would be premature at this point. Gotta take things one step at a time, getting ahead of myself is partially responsible for a few problems I have had in the past.

However you can pay-to-play and just get pintle-less nismos right off the bat and not have to worry about anything. The DW are re-manufactured after all, so you get what you pay for. I have never seen a post about pintle-less nismos failing or being problematic. I figured I would have seen something indicating such by now if it were the case.

My philosophy at the time (2008) was that DW were worth giving a shot. MY situation is different than yours. DW was local to me, I had met a couple of their guys. Their injectors were used by nearly every car "clique" in town, from subarus to 240's to RX7's to GTO's, there was always at least one from each crowd who had used DW when upgrading, and no one had any problems at that time. The warranty seemed reasonable, and if all turned out well in the end then several hundred $ was saved. Besides, once deleting everything in the engine bay, if the DW were to fail or be problematic, its not like changing injectors is a very difficult job. I can do the plenum pull in under an hour now if I hunker down and focus on getting done without dillydallying. The part that takes the longest is those damn IACV connectors.

If you're THAT concerned just buy some Nismos and be done with it. Otherwise wait and see how your DW's turn out. If I had it all to over again, I would have just bought the Nismos to begin with.

I no longer need to run on the Socialist Party ticket because the Democrat Party has now adopted our platform."
